Scanography Blend

While I was thinking of what I wanted to scan to create my blend I was very cold. I went to grab a sweater and saw all of my winter clothes. I got the idea of blending a coat, hat, a the inside of a boot. I used an overlay effect to blend them all together and feathered the photos all together.

Scanography

I liked the nature and rustic look of all of these items I found around my apartment. I scanned this using my scanner at home I set the setting at 300 dpi and scanned it at 5x8.

Enhancement and Color Changes

Color Replace : Mike : 19 September 2010 : 12:00 PM : Seattle, Washington : f/8.0 : 1/100 : ISO 80 : 6.2 Focal Length : Cannon Powershot. While in Washington seeing Preston's family we also saw my family. We were in Seattle at Ivars feeding the birds and I got this great action shot of my younger brother Mike. I loved the look on his face and how natural it is. I used the Quick Selection tool to highlight the light blue stripes on his sweater. I thought the gray matched well with his surroundings and fit in well with the picture.

Enhancement : Valerie : 17 October 2010 : 5:00 PM : Rexburg : f/4.0 : 1/25 : ISO 100 : 31.3 mm : Fugifilm Finepix s100FS. I tried a few different things with Valerie's photo. I smoothed her skin and attempted to clean up some blemishes. I also enhanced her eyes. I gave them more of a green color to make them pop. I asked her if that was okay, to keep it ethical. I then brightened and softened the photo.

Color Match : Valerie : 17 October 2010 : 4:45 PM : Rexburg : f/2.8 : ISO 250 : 1/350 : Focal Length 11.2 mm : Fugifilm Finepix S100FS. I liked the coloring of Val's face in her portrait photo. I cropped that photo down to get the coloring from just her face. I added it to the final photo and I liked the more muted color it gave the entire photo. It also smoothed out her face. There wasn't any further editing on this photo.

Portraits

Valerie : 17 October 2010 : 5:30 PM : Rexburg : f/3.8 : 1/7 : ISO 100 : Focal Length 23.5 mm : Fugifilm Finepix s100FS
I adjusted the coloring to make the red truck look more vibrant. I loved the coloring of her face originally.

Meeshell : 29 October 2010 : 12:00 : Dubois, Id : f/4.0 : 1/800 : ISO 200 : Focal Length 42.4 mm : Sony. Meeshell was a great model. I added some color and brightened it because it had a dull darker color originally.

Prestons Environment : 17 October 2010 : 4:00 PM : Rexburg : f/4.5 : 1/600 : ISO 400 : 9.1 mm : Super macro function : Fugifilm Finepix s100FS. My husband Preston loves to golf so I knew I wanted to take photos of him on the course here in Rexburg. I tried a few different angles and ideas but this is the one I liked the most. I brightened and added color to this photo.

Killian Group : 20 September 2010 : 12:00 PM : Seattle, Washington : f/8.0 : 1/100 : ISO 80 : 6.2 : Cannon Powershot. Earlier this semester we took a trip to Washington to visit Preston's family. This is the only photo where all the boys look semi-normal. I chose this photo because I also wanted to change the color of Baydn's (center) shirt. I tried it and then was informed that black is almost impossible to change. So sad.

I loved the intensity of the colors. I used a tripod for the first time and borrowed a friends camera. It gave me such better quality photos. I loved it.

Bannack HDR

1. Single Photo HDR
Hotel Meade : Bannack, Montana : 29 September : 3:30 PM
I used the Eye Catching preset and changed the saturation and contrast.

2. 3 Photo HDR
Mill : Bannack, Montana : 29 September : 5:45 PM
The changes automatically made enhanced the photos in such a great way that I didn't make any other changes. This photo is my favorite from the day. I love the colors and the contrast the HDR program enhanced for me.
